Thank you very much Countryguy, 4JWY, KLS, Chevy, Ohiocowboy, Mulan, DJ, 40Homey, Mary, Desi, Countrygirl, Ascot, Sentinal, Orangefatcat, Sassy, and Special K, and to you all who kept Mom in your thoughts and prayers. Your thoughts and prayers really mean a lot to me. I'm very thankful that I have this forum to kind of let this out.
I got back a little while ago. I saw Mom in the hospital. She didn't look so good, which was kind of expected, but she knew we were there and appreciated that I came up to see her.
Funny, my Mom is still a JW. No JW's from her congregation have EVER went to see her, or even spend a buck or two for a lousy card. Nice Christian love, huh?
What happens next...who knows. Personally, I think time is very short. But, I'm glad I was able to see her, hold her hand, and just be there with her.
Thanks to you all again.

I got a call a little while ago that my Mom just suffered another stroke. She's in the hospital in ICU. My brother just called and told me it doesn't look to good.
I'm going to go up to see her first thing tomorrow morning. I have mixed feelings. I know I have to see her, but another part of me does not want to see her like that.
This just sucks!!
Please keep my Mom in your thoughts and prayers. I really would appreciate it.
Thank you all.

Has anybody here really eaten ants? Either toasted or chocolate covered? What do they taste like? Are they crunchy?

Charcoal or Gas Grilling?
by El Kabong inok, i'm sitting in my sunroom, i got the grill going right outside cooking up some beautiful spareribs with my special hand-rub spices.
after that, i got 4 beautiful well marbled porterhouse steaks just waiting to be grilled to perfection.
my preference has always been using a charcoal grill.

Ok, the secret to my rub is.........(looks around)........Goya Sazon. They come in little packets. Just add it to your favorite rub. Usually, I do a pepper, garlic, cayenne pepper, paprika, kosher salt and a packet or 2 of the Goya Sazon.
You can find Goya sazon in the international foods section of your local supermarket. It really makes a difference in taste.
BTW. The ribs came out great!!! The steaks came out juicy, medium rare. The Burgers created a lot of smoke for some reason. But, they were great as well.

Fri May 28, 1:05 AM ET Add Offbeat - AFP to My Yahoo! BOGOTA, (AFP) - A British firm specializing in exotic food will sell half a ton of big-bottomed, toasted Colombian ants -- best harvested in cemeteries -- to Europe, Australia and the United States, after they became the rage in Britain.
AFP/HO/File Photo"Edible Limited" has inserted its lastest gourmet item, "Giant Toasted Ants," in its catalogue next to such scrumptious entries as chocolate covered crickets and scorpion potatoes.
Todd Dalton, the 29-year-old British entrepreneur behind the ambitious culinary company, said he has just signed a three-year contract with a Colombian firm to export 500 kilograms of the large Colombian ants, known as "culonas" (big bottom).
The idea of expanding the market for these ants, which thrive in cemeteries, came to Dalton, he said, after seeing how well they sold in Britain last year. He said his countrymen found them "exciting and unusual."
Dalton is busy visiting ant harvesting centers in Colombia's northern Santander department to familiarize himself with the meticulous process of collecting and preparing the ants for human consumption.
The price of Giant Toasted Ants, he said, will hover around 20 US dollars for 25 grams of the protein-packed insects -- in Colombia, the same amount goes for three dollars.
Hernando Medina, who manages Plaza Colombiana, the Colombian firm that supplies the ants to Edible Limited, told reporters he was ecstatic about the potential sales abroad.
He told reporters he was also exploring a cosmetic use for the big-bottom ants, possibly some sort of anti-wrinkle cream.

Ohiocowboy: You can come over anytime. We never close!!
Blondie: Does the briquettes make a difference? I've wondered about that.
Talesin: Yeah, I guess I'm one of those firebugs. The heck with starter fluid. I just use gasoline. Now, THAT'S a fire!!!!

OMG - are you kidding? What would Hank Hill say????
Propane...
...and Propane accessories
"Peggy, I got propane in my urethra." Bwahahahaha. Every time I pass a place that sells propane, I just got to say Propane and Propane accessories in that voice. Yup!
Besides the taste, I think another reason I like charcoal better is because I get to play with fire. Fire...FIRE... (Beavis:Heh-Heh-Heh)
